What makes a good website design?

I specialize in building easy to navigate websites that are designed to generate leads. I’ve had a lead generation website for over 20 years and I have worked in the lead generating field off line as well.

I’m not the right choice for every business. However, I am an excellent fit for businesses that need good clear communication with their customers and have an ongoing need for marketing and lead generation. Some web design clients will be a better fit for my websites and my maintenance and marketing membership than others. 

Website design is a compilation of many skills, from user experience, sales copy, and developing lead funnels, to SEO (search engine optimization.) the purpose of the website can be to get more sales, more leads, or for brand awareness and prestige.

Lead generation is one of the main functions of a local small business website. While I can build more complex websites, I specialize in basic sites that create leads. To complement your website I also offer additional lead generation opportunities, some free and others at varying rates.  

When working with me some of what you’re paying for is what you are not getting. You’re not getting fancy animations that slows a site down, creates problems with search engines, or encumbers accessibility. 

I can build the fancy sites and I do own professional software that can put together very complex sites with a fair amount of ease. Occasionally I will work on a complex site, but I am choosing to specialize in less complex information websites with additional supporting services. The supporting services include marketing activities that many business owners would like to do but don’t have time for.

While some of my websites have complex functionality I am rebuilding most of them using simpler and I think more efficient authoring software. The same software I will use on your website. 

The sites I build also have security software added and software to help improve SEO (search engine optimization.) 

A basic 4 pages website has a starting price is $1,500. I’m not the cheapest, you can get the same thing from Pakistan for about $150. Pakistan is fine if you are looking for rock bottom prices. But what about the service? Many local businesses prefer to work with a local native English speaking web service provider like me. In addition, I can provide local services that are hard for offshore businesses to match.

The main reason for offering an easy to navigate less complex website is to build a platform that will be optimal for local marketing and lead generation.

One of my goals is to have long term business relationships with those I work with. I can also do a one off site with no additional services. But my main focus is marketing and how your website fits into your marketing mix. The next thing to consider is how the website integrates into the local community and economy.

I will be as upfront as possible when using professional development tools and what you will be getting and how tied into my ecosystem you will be.

I use WordPress as my preferred Content Management System (CMS.) In addition I use various themes, theme builders, and additional software to customize the look and function of your website.

How Many and What Kind Of Pages Do You Need?
Most sites should have a home page, an about us page, information pages telling what your business is all about, privacy policy / accessibility policy, artists should have a portfolio., A contact us page is also helpful but can often be combined with the about us page. The contact form is optional and some businesses do best without them.

For those in our support and growth, AKA the Continuous Website Improvement program, this would be a minimum viable product stage. Some website designers who follow the Growth Driven Design methodology would call this a launch pad website.
