Placentia Civic Center and City Hall

Placentia City Hall is in one of the nicer Civic Centers in North Orange County

Placentia Civic Center Water Fountain

Placentia City Hall has a modern feel with the charm of early California architecture. Yes, it’s a modern building with a classic vintage feel. I love the water feature of this city hall. It really captures the feel of the old mission days with a practical design suited to the needs of a modern city. The circular walkway with seating is an inviting feature. I can imagine stopping in here to enjoy a quick brown bag lunch after seeing clients in the area.

I need to visit the library, which is always one of my favorite places. I think most libraries still subscribe to many of the hard to acquire business publications. So it is good to know your local librarian. I know when I’m researching a story about a location’s history, the librarians are always quite helpful. I imagine business subjects would be no different.

Within the Civic Center complex are found the Placentia City Hall, the Placentia Library District, and the Placentia Police Department.

I have enjoyed touring the various city halls in North Orange County, and I have to say Placentia City Hall is one of my favorites.

Placentia City Hall

Placentia City Hall my favorite feature of any city hall in North Orange County

My favorite feature of this city hall is the little amphitheater that is towards the south of the Placentia City Hall building. I am not sure if it’s really a location for free speech or if its use is tightly controlled to make speaking there a little less than free. I will need to investigate this unique feature in the future.

Placentia City Hall Amphitheater

This is one of the nicest city halls in North Orange County and in the video I will show you some of the highlights of this city building complex.

Here is the information from the Placentia City Hall and Civic Center video enhanced just a little and put into a paragraph format.

Yes, in this video about Placentia City Hall, I am once again experimenting with the voice isolation feature of some video editing software I have. You’ll notice when I change to allow background audio by the water fountain in the video.

Okay, I’m Andrew Ledford. This is My On The Road. And we are here at the Placentia City Hall. Actually the Civic Center. This is much nicer than many civic centers in other cities I’ve visited.

Uh, although there are, you know, I think, there’s some nice ones out there that we visited already. But this one I particularly like. We have the entrance right here. You can see it. I don’t know if we’re gonna do a lot of video inside the little rotunda there because they have a lot of music playing copyrighted music. So can’t really have that on video. But we have the library over here.

And then on this side we have a Vietnam memorial (Veterans Memorial.) We have the police department, and then towards the front we have Placentia City Hall.

So let’s go take a little look. I’m going to avoid getting this little girl in the video.

Hi.

So we’re gonna let her pass and then we’re going to take a look around. Well, yeah, let’s just do that. We’re going to go over here first to the memorial. And this right here, down this way. This one is the Placentia Veterans Monument. I thought this was Vietnam, but it’s, it’s all veterans. Mm-hmm.

And here we go. We have it right up here. A lot of people from this city have served. You know, just take a little quick around here, Down Here. And we do have the flagpole with an American flag, right there. And, unfortunately we do lose people that are out there, you know, making sure our country’s safe.

Okay, we’re going to move in here. We’re gonna see if we can get around here. I might just have to cut this off. It’ll cut the video out. Actually, I have great software. I might be able to just edit out the music in the background as long as I keep talking. So here we have the police department. Very easy to find. I met a lady that was going in there to return an American flag that she had been flying, that had gotten kind of weather beaten and wind torn. And she’s out looking for a new flag now.

And here’s the city, the Placentia City Hall, the building we all need to know about, if we’re in business in this city. This is where you’re gonna go for your building permits, your business license. You know, I’m sure that the council meets in here. So where you go to confront or plead with the city council.

And a kind of a neat water feature they have. And just very cool. Fountain up this way. And it has a bell at the top right up there. Very nice. Very nice.

Then we have the library over here. So the library, you know, they’re one of my favorite places, you know, I like to read a lot. Oh, so I don’t, I haven’t been in to see if they have a bookstore, but I like to buy, you know, use library books. The bad thing about it, you find a great book that’s been a former library book and then it’s not really worth that much as a collector’s item. So that’s the, the drawback of buying library books

I have sent. Oh yeah, if you’ve watched my videos, you’ve seen that I have some interesting collector items in my library. Not many, but I used to buy a lot of books. A lot of old books, now almost all of them are new.

We’re gonna take a look at the front of the Civic center here. One Facing Chapman. This is Chapman out here. Very easy to get to, easy to find. Here we have the Placentia Civic Center sign a flag.

But one of the really cool things about this civic center is right up here, this little walkway that looks like a maze. Come on, let’s go and see what’s in here. This is really cool. I love this. So we’re going through this little maze here and we come to kind of a little amphitheater now, wouldn’t it be fun to now wouldn’t it be fun to do a little talk and presentation here? You’d have all your fans and the public sitting here.

I could be standing here. Or you could? So if you’ve got a business in this area, I’m sure that if it’s public, if you have a public service message, that sort of thing, we could arrange. I don’t know. But I imagine the city wouldn’t mind if you arranged something here to help promote the city to make it safer, to make it a better place to live in.

And this is the seating. That’s where all the people would sit. Looks like there, some people have, they said no skateboards. I’ll bet ya. I’ll bet ya, this is the reason why. Right here. Right here, over here. So no skateboards. This is just so cool. I’m looking, it is tiered so that the people in front are sitting lower than the people in the back. So I just love this. I love where you have a place to have a public forum in a civic center, because that’s sort of what free speech is all about. Right?

Okay, I think that is going to do it for this little trip to the Placentia City Hall and Civic Center.

I am wishing all of you the very best in life. Have a wonderful day.

Bye-bye.
