Brea City Hall and Cultural Center with a quick trip to the Brea Mall.

Brea City Hall and Cultural Center is a large complex of offices, departments, and facilities for entertainment. The Brea City Hall video is toward the middle of the post.

With its modern architecture the Brea City Hall and Cultural Center is a large and somewhat imposing building. This is only fitting since it sits next to the Brea Mall. The Civic Center / City Hall complex forms part of a larger area of commerce that defines a vibrant Brea shopping and business district.

Sitting on the corner of S Randolph Ave and E Birch St, the Brea City Hall official address is 1 Civic Center Cir. Civic Center Cir is the name of the big circular driveway that fronts the City Hall complex.

I stopped in and chatted with the people at the police department and they informed me that City Hall is actually on the third floor of the building.

I also stopped in to visit with the folks at the library. I knew they had a bookstore and wanted to see what I could find. Well, they closed down their bookstore. They now have books for sale in a small section on a bookshelf. They probably have fewer books than a section of my home library. But the library looks like it would be a good place to spend some productive time.

I never used computers at a library, but that was one of its most popular sections. While I love paper books, digital communication is the way forward for information dissemination and assimilation.

The Curtis Theater is on the North side of the Civic Center / Brea City Hall complex.

I think just about everyone in North Orange County has at least heard of the Curtis Theater.

Brea City Council Chambers

I have never been in the Brea City Council Chambers before. Looking in from the outside it seems like security was their major concern when designing the facilities. However, the entrance is uninspiring. The good part about it is that it is easy to find and looks like it has good access from the ground floor. I guess this is the modern look, clean and sterile. I prefer a more traditional and inviting look for a city council meeting area.

Okay, we made it to, uh, Brea City Hall. The council chambers are here. This, I imagine, is where you go to get your business license as well as zoning and get plan approval.

So we’re gonna just take a little walk around here and see what we can see. Come on, let’s go.

Well, here it says the council chambers are this way and the police are this way. Yep. Right there we can see Brea Police Department and it looks like this is where they have their city council meetings. Doesn’t look very inviting, does it?

This was dedicated in 1981. 1981. I have a feeling that there’s more to see around on the other side. So let’s go that way.

We have the theater here. I think any of you have probably heard of this. This is, this is a cool building.

Just uh, and we are right by the mall. For those of you who may not know. There we go. This looks more like it.

This is the Public Library and Resource Center, Brea Civic and Cultural Center. Brea Library’s on this side, the side over here. And the Curtis Theater is on this side over here. And here’s the council chambers. This looks a lot more like I would expect coming right in here. Oh, still doesn’t look very inviting, does it? Oh, well that’s it. That’s kind of what we have here.
Well, yes indeed. This is Brea City Hall, but you have to go up to the third floor to get there.

So just a little tip for all of you coming down for a business license or to do any business here in Brea.

We’re gonna go take a look at the mall now and then I think we’re gonna be headed south.

I’m here at the Brea Mall. Yes? It’s okay. They have an Apple store. That’s cool. I guess I’m just not much for malls. There’s a lot of stuff here. There’s not much that I’m kind of looking for, but it is cool. But that’s going to do it for this little section.
